MAG's History

McConkey Auction Group (MAG) may be new to Alaska, but our roots in the wholesale auto auction industry run deep. We’ve been helping dealers buy and sell inventory since Bob McConkey Sr. co-founded South Seattle Auto Auction, Washington State’s first wholesale auto auction in 1953. Today, MAG’s Pacific Northwest auction locations include DAA Seattle (Auburn, WA), and DAA Northwest (Spokane, WA).

Anticipating the marketplace’s need for a hybrid remarketing solution combining digital and physical auction services, we launched MAG Now in January of 2020.

I’ve called the wholesale auto auction business “home” for the past 22 years. Serving Alaska’s dealer community is in my DNA, and I’m glad to do so alongside our MAG Alaska team. MAG Alaska Buyer Protection Plan

Our Buyer Protection Plan (BPP) delivers flexibility and confidence with every qualifying MAG Alaska purchase.

MAG Alaska BPP

Purchase BPP upgraded coverage based on the vehicle’s price and extend your arbitration time frame to 5 days upon receiving the vehicle, not to exceed 14 days from day of purchase.*

BPP Extended Coverage Tiers:

  • $1 to $3,000 – engine and transmission covered
  • $3,001 to $14,999 – powertrain coverage
  • $15,000 and up – full vehicle coverage

How It Works

During checkout, add a BPP to your purchase and you’re covered! AS-IS vehicles do not qualify.

After receiving the vehicle, if you find something wrong that is covered by the BPP, just open an arbitration claim in EBlock or contact your MAG Alaska representative. Be sure to stay within the BPP timeframes.

Upon validating the claim, we’ll quickly work toward a resolution!

  • Download the EBlock app and register with us
  • Request and complete a demo
  • Preview fresh Alaska and Pacific Northwest inventory weekly
  • Swipe and save units to your Watch List
  • Attend the weekly sale – Wednesdays at 12:00 PM – or use Autobid to set it and forget it!
  • Select from multiple payment options
  • Choose the Buyer Protection Plan at check-out on your eligible purchases
  • Rely on local arbitration – use the in-app arbitration or call our Anchorage team for quick resolution
